User Email Addresseses -- If Marked Hidden -- Hidden to Everyone But Yourself

Some users have expressed concerns that they can still see their email addresses even though they checked the 'hidden email' box.

This is because you can't hide it from yourself. No one else can see it (except moderators of course).

How can you tell then it worked?

Hidden emails are italicized instead of normal type when you read them.

Enough people have expressed concern about this I'm thinking about having to include the info about it in some sort of default introduction to the boards!

It's the way the boards work though, I can't hide your own email from you. 

I wonder if I do include it if anyone will read it anyway? 

At least I am stickying this thread here, I will rename it too so it is more informative.
