Prayer for the Day

Divine Heart of Jesus,
Through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Mother of the Church,
I offer You all my prayers, actions, joys and suffering of  this day,
in union with the intentions with which You offer Yourself
continually on the alters.
I offer them particularly for the intentions recommended to
the associates of the apostleship of prayer in
this month and on this day.

Blessed be the great Mother of God, Mary most holy,
Who saw the tomb and how His body was laid.

Queen of Martyrs, at the burial of your Divine Son,
pray for us in our hour of need.

Lady of Tears, Mother of God,
by the seventh sword that pierced your heart,
as your Son was wrapped in a linen shroud
and laid in noble Joseph's rock-hewn tomb,
let me stand at your side,
the close companion of your sorrow,
as you weep with the other women of Galilee.
Lady of Mercy,
who alone kept faith for three days
as Jesus lay in the tomb,
may we rejoice with you
in the glorious resurrection of your dear Son
the Savior of the world,
who lives and reigns with the Father,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever

By the intercession of Our Lady of Sorrows,
may the Lord Jesus conduct us to our heavenly home.

Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace to people of good will.
We praise You, we bless You, we adore You, we glorify You,
 we give You thanks for Your great glory.
Lord God, heavenly King, O God, almighty Father.

You take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us;
You take away the sins of the world, receive our prayer;
 You are seated at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us.
 For You alone are the Holy One,

The Sacred Heart.. the answer to a home full of peace.. as the promises to St. Margaret Mary tell us..

Lord Jesus Christ You said: “blessed are the poor in spirit.”
 We pray for the children, women, and men across the world who struggle each day to survive, pitted against economic conditions beyond their control. Give them strength to meet each day and hope for a different future.
Lord Jesus Christ You said: “blessed are the peacemakers.”
We pray for the people and groups of people campaigning for change to harmful economic policies. May the call for just trade, an end to debt, and more and better aid echo across the world.
Lord Jesus Christ You said: “blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness.”
 We pray for the leaders and politicians with the power to change things.
 We pray especially for the decision makers at the United Nations as they struggle with the question of poverty. Help them to take the side of the poor, to resist the voices of self-interest and complacency, and to make bold choices for the good of all people.
We ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and friend of the poor.
