Psalm 119: 1-8

Blessed are those whose way is blameless,
who walk in the law of the Lord!
Blessed are those who keep his decrees!
With all their hearts they seek him.

They never do anything evil,
but walk in his ways.
You have laid down your precepts
to be carefully kept.

May my ways be firm
in keeping your statutes.
Then I shall not be put to shame
as I observe all your commands.

I will thank you with an upright heart,
as I learn your just judgements.
I will keep your statutes;
do not ever forsake me.

Isaiah 43:10-13

You are my witnesses, says the Lord,
my servants whom I have chosen;
To know and believe in me
and understand that I am he.
Before me no god was formed,
and after me there shall be none.
I, I am the Lord;
there is no savior but me.
It is I who declared,
who saved, who announced,
not some strange god among you;
You are my witnesses, says the Lord.
I am God, yes, from eternity I am he;
There is none who can deliver from my hand.

Haha, George, the Douay, translates it as, "Praise him with timbrel and choir: praise him with strings and organs."

So you have an out!  violin

Does that mean that most of western society (Catholics) read the DR?

Psalm 57: 1-4 8-12

Have mercy on me, God,
have mercy on me.
In you I seek shelter.
In the shadow of your wings
I seek shelter till harm passes by.
I call to God most high,
to God who provides for me.
May God send help from heaven to save me.

My heart is steadfast, God,
my heart is steadfast.
I will sing and chant praise.
Awake, my soul;
awake, lyre and harp!
I will wake the dawn.
I will praise you among the peoples, Lord;
I will chant your praise among the nations.
For your love towers to the heavens;
your faithfulness, to the skies.
Show yourself over the heavens, God;
may your glory appear above all the earth.
