Hello everyone.

We need a new moderator over here at the Saints' Discussion Forums.

Our former moderators are no longer helping for various personal reasons. So there are shoes to be filled.  Cheesy

One person is not enough to keep everything going as it should be, so I am looking for one or two more moderators to help keep the forums happy, healthy, and to watch over them protectively.

A moderator's role is not very technical, but rather personal -- to be friendly, to start threads and conversations, to contribute good words to them. To invite good people to the forums when this is possible, to start new threads and to keep existing threads conversations flowing, and to see that regular folks keep polite, friendly and supportive of the saints, and remember this is their fundamental goal.  To support each other in their spiritual and ascetical practices. To get to know one another, person to person. When folks need a warning, to be friendly and encouraging and only to bring down firmness when it is called for, sometimes immediately, more often after warnings are disregarded -- in other words to still be friends with the person warned, and encouraging, to be a polite, wholehearted welcoming host who intervenes for the sake of the person and the sake of the whole family.

On other forums, for those who have participated on them, the role of moderator is often seen differently -- please do not draw any example whatsoever from other forums on how moderation is done elsewhere, for here. In many places it is done, for example, in a solely negative fashion, this is in fact, the opposite of the role of the moderator here, who while it is very necessary to remove that which is immodesty, sinful, etc. and this is part of the role, deleting, moving thread as necessary, more often the good and virtuous example is what the moderator is to provide so as to provide good witness as to the true Christian life and behavior.

As always this forum's policy is the saints are the ones who are correct, their consensus is to be followed, and what a relief such a good and beautiful policy exists to follow. How safe it is, and how different it is from those who interpret one way or another, and perhaps in their interpretations, interpret away from God and Heaven. And we have to keep on guard regarding the deceptions by the world, and from the answers provided by its 'pop culture', whether it's 'pop apologetics' or a facade of Catholicism, or simply the usual enabling low standards that cause so many to be aimless and lost and not even know why.

A moderator needs to be wholeheartedly supportive of the consensus of the saints, and be well read of the modesty resources and familiar with the other writings of the saints in their excerpts provided here. To love tradition, and to recognize how far we are from the past and so to hold onto and help in the restoration of tradition as possible in good words and speech.

A moderator has to be self sacrificing of personal viewpoints for the sake of the greater good.

A moderator has very little to do technically, and for those who are not technically inclined, I can easily continue to be the main person who removes spammers and advertisers who login. We do not have a great deal of this, security is tight at the moment, though this changes as time changes. You will be instructed on some basic technical information but there is no need to be concerned about anything technical as long as you can post, and follow simply instructions on how to delete, edit, and move threads, which is rarely a concern as well. The work is mostly one of being a good host, shepherd or shepherdess, and brother or sister in Christ.

If you would like to be a moderator please pray about this and send a private message about it.

A few additional notes.

All future moderators need to be especially familiar with and helpful in promoting modesty, and the modesty resources.

And it is necessary for all moderators and highly advisable for all users to be familiar with how we are held accountable for what is posted and written on forums before God.

This is part of the guidance on how to post and how not to post.

It is also good to be very familiar with Inspirational Quotes from the Saints. If you are not, you will have the good and happy role to become so, because posting quotations, and commenting on them is part of being a member of the forums and a moderator.
