Please pray for Ken Johanek, he is dying from a series of strokes, has been bed bound for the last two years.  He is not expected to live through the weekend and  we were told by our priest tonight at our parish council meeting to prepare for a funeral next week.
Please pray for a happy death for Ken. I held his hand many times while he told me how badly he wants to go home to Our Lord.
Thank you for your prayers!

Prayer to St. Joseph for the Dying

O BLESSED JOSEPH, who yielded up thy last breath in the arms of Jesus and Mary, obtain for me this grace, O holy Joseph, that Ken Johanek may breathe forth my soul in praise, saying in spirit, if he is unable to do so in words: "Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I give Thee my heart and my soul."

Amen.

Kyrie eleison. Christi eleison. Kyrie eleison.

Watch, O Lord,
with those who wake, or watch or weep tonight,
and give your angels charge over those who sleep.
Tend your sick ones, O Lord Jesus Christ.
Rest your weary ones. Bless your dying ones.
Soothe your suffering ones. Pity your afflicted ones;
Shield your joyous ones; and all for your love's sake.
Amen.

We turn to you for protection, holy Mother of God.
Listen to our prayers and help us in our needs.
Save us from every danger, glorious and blessed Virgin.
Amen!

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord; and let the perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace.

Yes, may he rest in peace!  He suffered so much for so long and with a some health care chaos,as can befall caregiving and end of life decision making.
Things got pretty crazy in the end before he was long term care.
Makes me have questions about purification on earth vs. in purgatory, probably a question for another forum.
Thank you all for your prayers! flower flower
