Just a reminder folks that this forum is devoted to the quotations of the saints. It's for preserving and sharing their quotations and discussing them, and not for sharing the quotations and pronouncements of those who have lived scandalous lives, or for contemporary folks, or folks who have a few sentimental quotations and then a number of scandalous ones.

Please try to limit yourself to referring to the saints and the holiest of folks and more rarely the soundest of religious folks from the past. Going to old books with imprimaturs is a good way to find material, and experience will gradually show you who has the purity of writing and doctrine that bears quoting.

We don't want to harm folks by referring them to people who live evil lives, whatever their popularity is with the world and with worldly folks within the visible boundaries of the Church.

There's often a delayed hand with moderator action here and sometimes people aren't immediately reprimanded for mistakes but given a little time to recognize their errors on their own, but in the end even if delayed, action is taken. Promoting scandalous folks will result in moderator action.

May God keep us I pray!

'Brothers, we must follow such examples. For it is written: Follow the saints, because those who follow them will become saints.'

Pope St. Clement I of Rome

'The path to Heaven is narrow, rough and full of wearisome and trying ascents, nor can it be trodden without great toil; and therefore wrong is their way, gross their error, and assured their ruin who, after the testimony of so many thousands of saints, will not learn where to settle their footing.'

St. Robert Southwell
