The Liturgy of the Hours

I am interested in these prayers. I have bought the book which I hoped would help me achieve this goal, " The Liturgy of the Hours- The Prayer of the Church", a Paulines publication. So far, it has not gone well. The book is difficult to follow. Prayers do not appear to be in one place, one has to keep turning pages searching for the right hymn, canticle, psalm, etc. I have asked and been shown but still, I am finding problems. Can anyone help?
N.B
I have found a site that gives the daily prayers in the format recommended but the psalms and canticles are, they write, not authentic, but their own translations because of copyright reasons.

You'd be better off with the traditional breviary. I'll PM you a bit more info.

Unless you use an online version you are going to have to learn how to flip back and forth, which is what all the ribbons are for.

Good thinking Poche. In fact I am told that the "Morning Prayer" of the LH is prayed in our church after the first Mass which is at around 7.30 am. I usually do not manage to attend weekday Mass. Will make a special effort to do so and hope to share in the Morning Prayer then.

Seconded.

Try either the Roman Breviary of 1962 or the Monastic Diurnal.

Or perhaps start  easy  with the Little Office  of  Our Lady.

Learn to really love reciting the Liturgy of The Hours!
I added The Little office also and it is a nice compliment.
If I don't make time to read them, I feel like something is missing in my day.
Sometimes I fall asleep over them
Late at night. I like to think my guardian angel and Our Lady help
me out and finish them for me

Will try. I think many Catholics have similar habits. I used to start my Rosary in bed but ask my Guardian Angel to complete it for me should I fall asleep before completing. Usually I slept after just a couple of Hail Maries
