What do we talk most about?  Ourselves? our family and friends? our likes and dislikes? our problems?  It would be better that when we talk we talk only on three subjects.  These subjects are:  1) God and heavenly things (e.g. our Blessed Mother, the Angels, the Saints)  2) Salvation  3) Eternity.  All other talk won't do much to help our listeners get to heaven--and getting souls to heaven is what it's all about --"it" meaning life.  Life isn't about enjoying life and its pleasures, but about enjoying the Love of God in this temporal life and proving ourselves faithful to Him, so that we can enter Heaven when our temporal lives have ended; our lives should be all about union with God and saving our souls and as many souls that we can.  When we converse with others let us keep focused on Him and on His Love and forget all about ourselves and other things that are less deserving of our attention and time.  If only all our thoughts could be filled with our Blessed Lord and His Love, and all our desires be to love only Him and to serve only Him through Blessed Mary, with our wills well conformed to such heavenly thoughts and desires--we'd all live all the time as the most blessed Catholics on the planet and we could go straight up to Heaven when we die; purified and sanctified by the ardent fire of holy charity.  If we keep all our conversations with others to the three subjects I mentioned above, forgetting about all other subjects unless duty or charity requires their mention, we and our listeners will be very blessed indeed.

Here is a better expression of my view on conversations:

If we keep all our conversations with others down to the three subjects, forgetting about all other subjects unless duty or charity requires their mention, we and our listeners will be very blessed indeed.  What do we talk most about?  Ourselves? our family and friends? our likes and dislikes? our problems?  It would be better that when we talk we talk pretty much only on three subjects. Life isn't about enjoying life and its pleasures, but about enjoying the Love of God and proving ourselves faithful to Him and saving our soul and the souls of others.  When we converse with others let us keep focused on God and on His Love and forget all about ourselves and other things that are less deserving of our attention and time.  If only all our thoughts could be filled with our Blessed Lord and His Love, and all our desires be to love only Him and to serve only Him through Blessed Mary, with our wills well conformed to such heavenly thoughts and desires--we'd all live all the time as the most blessed Catholics on the planet and we could go straight up to Heaven when we die, purified and sanctified by the ardent fire of holy charity.
