The Octave of Easter is the period from Easter Sunday through Divine Mercy Sunday  (the Sunday after Easter Sunday).

In the Gospel of John, Thomas the Apostle doubted the resurrection of Christ.       
Upon seeing Jesus in the flesh, Thomas proclaimed, My Lord and my God!"

New converts are traditionally brought into the Church through the Sacraments of Initiation   
(Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Communion) at the Easter  Vigil service, on Holy Saturday evening.

The Octave of Easter is the eight day period, or octave, that begins on Easter and ends with     
the following Sunday. The first seven of these days are also collectively known as Easter Week.

In The Gospel Accord to Luke, the women in this gospel do not flee from the tomb and tell no one,   
as in Mark Chapter 16 Verse 8. They return and tell the disciples about their experience.   
The initial reaction to the testimony of the women is disbelief.

Low Sunday is the first Sunday after Easter.   
The name Low Sunday indicates the contrast between it and the great Easter festival preceding

The Gospel According to John     
Chapter 10 Verses 8-9     
Then the other disciple (John) also went in, the one who had arrived at the tomb first,   
and he saw and believed. For they did not yet understand the scripture that he (Jesus) had to rise from the dead.

Chapter 15 Verse 4-5   
 
that he (Jesus) was buried; that he was raised on the third day in accordance with   
the scriptures; that he appeared to Kephas, then to the Twelve.   
 
Kephas refers to Simon Peter.

Divine Mercy Sunday is celebrated on the octave of Easter (the eighth day of Easter, that is, the Sunday after Easter Sunday.

The Easter Triduum begins with the Evening Mass of the Lord's Supper on Holy Thursday, reaches its   
high point in the Easter Vigil, and closes with Evening Prayer on Easter Sunday.

In Matthew's Gospel account of the Resurrection, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to the tomb.   
 
In Mark's Gospel account of the Resurrection, Mary Magdalene, Mary (James' mother), and Salome went to the tomb.

The Fourth Sunday of Easter is traditionally called "Good Shepherd Sunday".     
This name comes from the Gospel passage, taken from the tenth chapter of John.
