Gaudete Sunday is the Third Sunday of Advent. The name comes from Gaudete in Domino semper (Rejoice in the Lord always.)
The priest may wear rose vestments. The third candle of the Advent wreath may be rose colored.

The Introit for Gaudette Sunday is taken from Philippians Chapter 4: 4,5.

Of the stations kept in Rome the four Sundays of Advent, that at the Vatican basilica is assigned to Gaudette, as being the most important and imposing of the four.
