Jolenta of Hungary (1235-1298) was the daughter of King Bela IV of Hungary and Maria Laskarina.
She was the niece of St. Elizabeth of Hungary. When she was five years old, Jolenta was committed
to the care of her older sister, Princess Cunnegund, who had married King Boleslaus II of Poland.
Under their fostering care, she grew up a pattern of virtue.

Jolenta married Boleslaus, Duke of Poland in 1275.
During the time of her marriage, she was noted for
her services to the poor and needy of Poland. She
was also a benefactress of friaries, monasteries, and hospitals.

After the demise of Boleslaus and after two of her daughters were married,
Jolenta and her third daughter withdrew to the convent of the Poor Clares at Sandee.

Jolenta's husband Boleslaus joined her in building hospitals, convents, and churches so that he was named "the Pious".

Forced to relocate due to armed conflict in the region, Jolenta founded a new monastery in Gniezno.
