There's a lot about the Miraculous Medal here. Smiley

Here, let's start this. It's the same prayer day by day. I'm sure it'll help.   Cheesy

Novena of the Miraculous Medal

O Immaculate Virgin Mary,
Mother of Our Lord Jesus and our Mother,
penetrated with the most lively confidence in your all-powerful and never-failing intercession, manifested so often through the Miraculous Medal,
we your loving and trustful children implore you to obtain for us the graces and favors we ask during this novena,
if they be beneficial to our immortal souls,
and the souls for whom we pray.

(Here form your petition) [For the Lord's will, especially for Patricia's intentions]

You know, O Mary, how often our souls have been the sanctuaries of your Son who hates iniquity.
Obtain for us then a deep hatred of sin and that purity of heart which will attach us to God alone so that our every thought, word and deed may tend to His greater glory.

Obtain for us also a spirit of prayer and self-denial that we may recover by penance what we have lost by sin and at length attain to that blessed abode where you are the Queen of angels and of men.

Amen. Amen. Smiley

Thanks Mamasye. I appreciate your care and concern and most of all your prayers!
I received the Miraculous medal (its blessed) and wear it with my scapular. Hope God sends me a suitable job soon according to His Will.

I do that too, but just in case you don't realize it, you can, sew the MM onto the scapular, if you like.

I loop the Scapular through the MM clasp.
Do you sew the clasp onto the Scapular badge?

Yup - that way it doesn't slip back and forth like it does when just "looped" on it. I don't need to sew all of it, just the clasp part - like a clothing hook. Same with any other medal I wear on it (except others I sew onto the back part of the Scapular). Since I'm 5'8" and none of the scapular cords are long enough - during the summer I sew extra pieces of cord in, too. That way it rarely shows even after I move (summer clothes are hard to get that don't scoop farther, although I refuse to get anything that shows anything below about 5" below my neck so way above anything - the percentage of Catholics that even know what a Scapular is in this area in very, very small, and most people I run into are protestant, at best, so they think it is a "Life Alert" type gadget Roll Eyes).

I'll sew it in. Apart from this, my only thought is that if I get into an accident I wouldn't want them to remove my scapular and would they do it if it has metal on it? Huh?

And apart from this I don't understand why Shin finds this so funny? Smiley

Depending on the problem, I believe. If the problem is (for ex.) a broken ankle then they probably wouldn't, but if their is a problem within the chest area, they probably would.

Probably because it usually isn't mentioned (the likeness).

At my local parish recently they put out a stack of little cards that say, 'I am a Catholic, in case of emergency contact: with listings for family members, doctors and priest and a lovely holy picture.'

I must remember to fill it out! If I had a laminator I'd laminate it so it would be more resilient too.

Hmm.. I wonder if that's something I can have done here someday.

I do sometimes try to think of inexpensive 'donation gifts' to encourage and give to people to donate. There are many good printing services out there that will prepare whatever you design for them.

Well, as I figure it out!
