What day of the week did the original Pentecost occur?

Pentecost was the day after the seventh following Sabbath. Pentecost in Acts 2:1 was the first day of the week (Sunday).

The author of The Acts of the Apostles begins by noting that the disciples of Jesus   
"were all together in one place" on the "day of Pentecost".
