St Abercius, believed to have been Bishop of Hierapolis, was reportedly summoned to Rome by Emperor Marcus Aurelius to exorcize a demon from the Emperor's daughter, and was successful.  Abercius  was also reported very active in conversion work.  St Abercius, please pray for us.

I read about Abercius entering the temple and destroying Apollo, Hercules, Diana, and Venus. Abercius was very brave.

St. Abercius is said to have evangelized Syria and Mesopotamia.   
On that basis he is referred to as one of the Equals-to-the-Apostles.
