Christmas Prayer

 Dear Infant Jesus
In a short time
You will come
To visit us
And your holy, divine coming
Is full of Peace, Joy and Love.

Candles and Christmas lights represent Christ, the Light of the World.
Candles and Christmas lights also remind people that they are to be light to others,
to show them the way to Christ.

Christmas is a contraction of "Christ's Mass", which is derived from the Old English Cristes maesse.

The Gospel passages proclaimed at the Vigil and the Midnight Mass of Christmas root the Nativity
of the Lord in the family history and lineage of David as they tell the story of the Birth of the Savior.

How wonderful that God chose the shepherds to see the important birth of the Infant Jesus!
Because of their humble origins, the shepherds could not help but rejoice and tell everyone that they had seen the Messiah.
