Prayer to the Sacred Heart

I think June is the month we honor the Sacred Heart.  I felt this would be a good time to post a prayer I have personally said for years.

Oh most Holy Heart of Jesus, fountain of every blessing.
I adore you, I love you, and with a lively sorrow for
My sins, I offer you this poor heart of mine.
Make me humble, patient, pure, and wholly obedient
To Your will.
Grant good Jesus that I might live in you and for you.
Protect me in the midst of danger, comfort me in my afflictions,
Give me health of mind and body, assistance in my temporal needs,
Your blessings on all that I do,
And the Grace of a happy death.

I love this prayer, many thanks.  I resolve to offer it frequently.  But I struggle to understand whether if God Wills our afflictions, but does not cause more than we can bear, should we ask for comfort or only to bear them?
