Has Quote icon procedure changed?

I'm sorry for my recent obvious problems trying to use the quote icon?  Has this changed or did I forget how to use it?
Will a quote (copy) only appear at the end of the thread where it was copied?
Does that mean I can't move the quote to another thread?
Is there an FAQ section here where I should have found these answers?

I am sorry you are having issues with using it, can you describe the trouble?

It has not changed here, though it is possible that your phone or browser has updated in some way that makes it work differently.

You should simply click the 'quote' button and see the post that was below the quote button quoted.

There is a help FAQ that can assist you! The 'help' button is along the top row of buttons on the forum, right after the 'home' button.

Thanks for your comments.  I regret to inform you that I see no FAQ icon in the help section, nor any reference to quotations.  I was thinking that I could quote your opening comment to be redisplayed as the last post in the first forum to bury my foolishness, but as you see it didn't work.  Sorry to make extra work, i hope you are well.

Ah, apologies, it does not say 'FAQ' but most of what should be known is covered in the help link if you click the link on 'posting' after clicking it.

But let me summarize. There is more than one way to quote a previous post. You can click the 'quote' button above each post in the thread, or after you have hit the 'reply' button, if you look below where you type in your post, the are the previous posts in the thread listed under the 'Topic Summary'.

You can click 'Insert Quote' from those listed posts to quote them.
