New Traffic Law: Move Over
«

If a patrol car is pulled over to the side of the road, you have to change to the next lane (away from the stopped vehicle) or slow down by 20 mph. Every state except New York, Hawaii, Maryland and the D.C. has some variation of this law.
This law was put into effect to make it safer for police and emergency personnel to work.
Thanks to Lou B and Willy and Wilma for the heads up!

Well, that's good to know, since I haven't been doing that - OOPS!

Neither've I.. my reaction always was move over to the other lane if there was time, but generally to slow down only slightly so as not to cause a traffic jam!
