Announcement: Required Reading for all Users - Links, Images, Photos, Etc.

A reminder to all members.

You agreed to follow forum rules when you joined the website remember, and also remember that modesty is holy and meant for all our life.

How best to remain modest and careful about the Internet while using it is a learning process.  As we proceed to learn how to be careful enough it is a learning process for me too. Let's learn to do well.

If a website has advertisements or banners that are a problem, don't link. It doesn't matter how good a resource it is, it's not worth it.  

Please be attentive -- if images, photos, etc. violate clothing and modesty standards: Do not post them.

You may not live up to them in your life, your family may not, but on this forum, in regards to photos at least, it is required. Hopefully everyone will think about living up to them more appropriately in the home and encouraging their family and friends to do so. Please pray and consider! The Lord loves modesty!

If there's content on a website that has a potential problem, you can simply cite or quote that content rather than link, as long as it is not too lengthy.

Now, regarding problem content links and photos: I surf the Internet with image filters/ad blockers, as I recommend everyone to do at the minimum.

This can cause something of a problem. I may not spot problems in posts because they are pre-blocked, even my own though I take good care. To mitigate this I try to stick with what I find reliable and I don't go too far abroad. Notify me if you find any problems with any links or pictures, even those provided by moderators. I make mistakes too.

We need to provide a good example as well being careful not to provide near occasions of sin. We want to be an oasis of modesty here.

Links outside change sometimes, and so, while I can and will do my best to supervise things, it's this website that is the safest spot -- the links, well, in this world there's a lot of trouble, so be careful and surf safely and don't rely on any one solution, including the work here which we can only do our best as humans regarding, and can't keep perfect watch and take no legal responsibility for! This website is not perfect because we are not -- have backup solutions. Remember the opening disclaimer as part of the agreement for new users.

Modesty is very important, and holding up the standards is very rare. So please think about how to be more modest and help to do so. God loves modesty, and forgives us when we make mistakes and turn to Him and His love.

A reminder, as per the other announcement: Link posting is disabled. You will get an error if you attempt to do so.

Image posting is limited to putting images in the gallery, which can then be approved or not. The guidelines above give a clue as to what will be and what will not.

Image posting in threads from the gallery is temporarily offline, this is simply a programming issue that happened during an upgrade, it will be re-enabled after the next software patch.

A reminder too, in the very rare cases where a link is in a post (normally to a book on Saints' Books, etc., internal links) if you quote that link in your post, you will also receive the standard error message due to links not having permission to be posted.

So be careful when you quote the rare post with a link!

If you wish to post an internal link, simply ask and your post will be edited to properly display it.
