Dear friends,

Please include in your prayers a friend of mine. She is in desperate need of a job, which will solve various problems at home including marital. They are in debt and also there is emotional pressure on her because she can't get a job. She is a very meek person and can't take the pressure , calls me to pour her heart out, and I feel helpless.
They are Catholics and sometimes in desperation even talks of divorce. Please pray for this poor lady everyday for peace in her home. They have  two children who can be affected by the situation. Sad

She has my prayers the poor woman! St. Joseph help her! May she find good work! God bless them I pray.

Memorare
of St. Bernard

Remember, O most gracious virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help or sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly to you, O virgin of virgins, my mother. To you I come, before you I stand sinful and sorrowful. O mother of the word incarnate, do not ignore my petitions but in your mercy hear and answer me.

The economy here in Ireland is in a terrible state and your friends situation is sadly repeated in so many lives.
I feel the Lord is teaching us not to put our trust in money

We fly onto Thy patronage O Holy Mother of God.
Despise not our prayers in our necessities but ever deliver us from all dangers O' most glorious and Blessed Virgin.

I really agree that the Lord is teaching so many not to put our trust in money! Not to let it monopolize our thoughts and actions.

Sub tuum praesiduim confugimus, sancta Dei Genetrix; nostras deprecationes ne despicias in necessitatibus; sed a periculis cunctis libera nos semper, Virgo gloriosa et benedicta.

Please continue to pray. All I can do is listen to her and pray for her. Feel my hands tied as to her situation. At least if she pours her heart out to me she won't bottle it up and feel desperate. That's the least I can do for her right now.

Please continue to remember this poor lady. She calls me and pours her heart out. She is still finding it difficult to get  a job for which she studied a lot, and since she cant get one she is being taunted by her spouse and is getting the cold shoulder.  Her husband has a job, but that doesn't suffice for him. Please pray that he too is given grace to change his priorities and love his wife unconditionally. I'm trying to listen to her and encourage her to pray more, so she doesn't get desperate or suicidal.  cross prayer

Be careful Patricia.  Besides all this, you may at some point need to tell her to get some professional counseling.  Desperate and suicidal is serious.  I will pray for YOU too.

That's what I told her, that maybe they needed some serious counseling. She is ready for it, but her husband will not be.

Usually that is the case, and often what is recommended is that the wife go anyway, then at some point the husband will want to go to find out what she might be saying about him (or just be curious about the counseling).

I am praying for your poor friend.  May her husband grow to be more understanding and begin to give her support rather than reproach.  May she find work soon and keep finding help in you, Patricia; may she turn to a holy priest to help give her extra support, too.  Amen.
