                         I like the Prophet Micah.
                         Micah 5, 2:
But you,  Bethlehem-Ephrathah, too small to be among the clans of Judah,
From you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler of Israel.

I like Elijah, too!   Smiley I have a little shrine with an icon of him that sits on my desk where I read and pray or just sit. The image is of the story where ravens bring him bread.  Our parish priest, suggested I read about him and I have been hooked ever since  littlepigeons

Yes that story of the ravens really is special!

And Micah's announcement.. How heartening, thank you Cyril!

I am going to have to read through the Old Testament a little and think a little more before I can answer myself at all, if I can. I am truly enjoying reading about other folks favorites.

All ye Patriarchs and Prophets, pray for us!

Rehoboam was the last monarch of the United Kingdom of Israel and the first monarch of the Kingdom
of Judah after the former's split.
Shemaiah was a prophet in the reign of Rehoboam. The intervention of Shemaiah prevented a war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam
after Jeroboam had led the northern tribes of Israel to separate from the tribes of Judah and Benjamin.

The Greatest Prophet of the Old Testament is John the Baptist because:
He is the Messenger of God, the Angel in the flesh, sent before the Lord.
He preached the Gospel and brought sinners to repentance.
He was esteemed a Prophet by the people of Israel.
He was miraculously conceived by elderly Saints.
He was cleansed of original sin at the greeting of the blessed Virgin Mary at the Visitation.
He was declared the greatest among those born of men, possessing the Holy Spirit even in the womb.
He was the Righteous Forerunner of the Messiah who was the first to proclaimed that Jesus was the Christ, the Son of God.
He was martyred for admonishing the incest of Herod.
He arose with the Saints at death of Jesus and after Jesus's Resurrection, he came out and testified to Jesus's Resurrection and ascended into heaven with all the righteous who had risen from the dead.
He is now in heaven, body and soul, and receives the reward as the Last and Greatest Prophet of the Old Testament.
Saint John the Baptist, pray for us.

The prophet Ahijah of Shiloh was a prophet in the days of King Solomon.
He foretold to Jeroboam that Jeroboam would become king.
One of Ahijah's prophecies was: The nation of Israel would become divided into two kingdoms. 1 Kings Chapter 11: Verses 29-33
