You know we might even have done this quote for the day before. . I know it's come up in conversation. . .

But it's so important. And it's a lesson I haven't learned yet.. and takes time to learn.. but experience keeps persuading me that it has to be learned..

And God keeps teaching us the lesson until we understand it.

Whenever it's a busy day the temptation is to cut down on the prayer time, nothing like maintaining it, far far from increasing it.

But it is prayer that enables us to succeed at what we do.

We can't do a full day of farm work without eating enough breakfast, or better yet..  We can't truly live without breathing, and prayer is like breathing. . .

Somehow or other, somewhere or other, the grace to take care of all the events of a busy day has to be gained. We gain grace by prayer and mortification -- or, through others prayers and mortification.

So someone has to do it. And God is careful not to let someone else do it all for us, when we do not ask enough.

God help me to learn how to pray!  Cheesy  crucifix

I heard something similar from a saint quote and can't remember which saint.
If you are too busy to pray, then you are too busy.

I wonder what we are meant to do? Would praying while we work count or maybe it's a matter of looking at what's keeping us so busy and asking if it's really that important?

That happens so often with mothers (and grandmothers) of young children. It's hard to remember that their exploration/questions/teasing/etc. are often the better way to handle things. A full hour of prayer would certainly aid in this.

If you all only came to my house!   Shocked

If I didn't get up at 5 a.m., I would never pray at all!!   Hmm, maybe I would enjoy a monastery!  Roll Eyes
