'The divine Heart of Jesus must be so entirely substituted for our own, that He alone may live and act in us and for us; His Will must so annihilate ours that it may have absolute freedom to act without any resistance on our part; in fact, His affections, thoughts and desires must take the place of ours: thus He will love Himself with His own love in us and for us.'

I down loaded Cleaving to God by St Albert the Great and was reading through it earlier.

So let us withdraw our hearts from the distractionsof this world, and recall them to the inner joys, so that we can establish them to some degree in the light of divine contemplation. For this is the life and peace of our hearts - to be established by intent in the love of God, and to be sweetly remade by his comforting.

"I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.

With St Paul we hope to be able to say one day,
"It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me."   angel blue

Yes! To appreciate the greater good we have to make room by putting away the lesser!  Cheesy
