Somehow I think it's only fair that if you get 100% for cheating, at least I can get that extra 20% for being creative. Cheesy

Since I found these all the answers all visible, you're the best riddle answerer here Brigid today! At least without Irish wisdom..  irishwisdom Wink

What bird is always with you at the dinner table?

A swallow.

Why does the stork stand on one leg?

Because if he took the other leg off the ground he would fall on the ground!

What do you call a small swallow?

A sip!

What kind of bird is always sad?

A bluebird!

Why do hummingbirds hum?

Because they don't know the words!

"Alternatives" is a good word (like my "creative") on an earlier one.

I'll have more bird riddles tomorrow, I found a small little treasure trove. Cheesy

I think we need a bird for the smilies.. You know there are some beautiful bird stories in the book excerpts on Saints' Books.. if you search 'bird'..

A little boy walked into a pet shop and asked for 25 cents worth of bird seed. The clerk wondered what  he could do with such a small amount of seed. He asked the boy what type of bird he had. The child replied, "None, I'm going to plant the seeds and grow some"!

Reminds me of the little boy who walked into the pet shop and asked for 2 bumble bees.

The shopkeeper said. "I'm sorry but we don't sell bumble bees here.

The little boy replied, "But you have two in the window."

Good one Martin!

Reminds me I've been noticing more bees lately.

'Look at the bees upon the thyme ; they find therein a bitter juice, but in sucking it they convert it into honey. because this is their special power. O worldling ! devout souls find much bitterness, it is true, in their exercises of mortification, but in performing them they convert them into sweetness and joy. Fire, flames, wheels, swords, were as flowers and perfumes to the martyrs, because they were truly devout. If devotion can sweeten the most cruel tortures, and even death itself, what will it not do for acts of true virtue?'

St. Francis de Sales, Devout Life, chapter 2, 'Mystical Flora'

We must not merely have the aromatic and fragrant sweetness of honey, namely, the sweetness of polite conversation with strangers, but also the sweetness of milk among our own family and neighbors.

St. Francis de Sales, Devout Life,

I wonder if this pet shop also sells milk?
