Here's a splendid sermon, absolutely great to listen to, on
Our Lady of Guadalupe and St. Juan Diego.
St. Juan Diego's response to Our Lady is priceless.

Beautiful ! Beautiful! I sent the sermon to all my Catholic contacts. Very, very touching. I love the way Our Lady speaks to Juan Diego, like a little child.

Didn't listen to the sermon yet but that painting is located at the back of our Church. The priest (who faces the congregation) looks directly at her while at the altar. The painting is about 8 ft. tall, looks just like that.

My estranged husband sent over a lace tablecloth with this picture of Our Lady of Guadalupe on it -- white only, machine 'stitched' -- I put it on my dark wood table and put the glass piece over it to preserve it and keep it clean. I wish he really was who he pretends to be. I pray for him, but too many proofs of him just doing things for how they will be perceived by others and not out of true belief keep me from trusting anything. But it is nice to have. I have out my 3 Our Lady of Guadalupe candles too.

Yes still it's a good sign in and of itself isn't it?
Our Lady, ora pro nobis..

If you have ever lived with, worked with, been much with, a narcissist, you know not to take anything they do at face value, but to look to what they hope to get out of whatever is packaged as a 'gift' -- sad.

Yes, I know what you mean.
That's why it's so important to repent and to learn to love God and do things for charity's sake..

So much love and devotion because of Our Lady's gift to us.
The image reminds me of the Black Madonna.. so much love and care and time and devotion..

In 1746 Our Lady of Guadalupe's patronage was accepted by all the territories of New Spain.

There are no known 16th century written accounts of the Guadalupe vision by the archbishop Juan de Zumarraga.
