I ususally ask for prayers for others but lately it seems I could use some help. If anyone could pray every now & then for my health I'd appreciate it. Basically, and I'm sure older ladies here might understand this , I'm 45 and not sleeping well at all , becoming irritable and emotional . I 'm near that stage in life ! I have been diagnosed with clinical depression , am under a doctor's care for that so it feels as though that's compounded the issue. I have an active nine year old son to keep up with & I really want to be the best mom I can be but I struggle with a low energy level . I know prayers can help so if any could be said for me, thank you .

My prayers are with you.

I know the guilt we feel with irritability and loss of strength as we get older, esp with young ones. We want to be a positive, loving example to them and we feel we're falling short on that. It's really hard. It does come with biological stage of life and with clinical depression, too. Those things aren't something you can do very much about. I imagine Mary went through the mid-life problems, too, so she will be a strength to you, I'd think.

You have my strong prayers!

Treat yourself well! We have to take good care of ourselves. Be good to yourself! Often even the saints are gentle with everyone else but hard on their own selves.. but to recover from long term sadness, while we sometimes need to push ourselves in hard ways, we also often have to be gentler with our own selves than we habitually have been in the past..

I hope you and your doctor find some good solutions to keep you smiling. Smiley

I can't give any solid advice really, and forums aren't a place for medical advice in any case of course, but I can just say in general my father has always recommended exercise of some kind, and I have heard anecdotally that fish oil capsules have helped some people who've tried medication to manage with lighter medication.

You might want to ask your doctor about and look into fish oil if you haven't already. Smiley

I hope you find this a happy place to relax. Cheesy

Jesus and Mary pray for us! Smiley

I never thought St. Mary possibly went through such a thing but I do trust her alot when I pray . I may have to consider that more !  Smiley

Oh, yes, Shin I have those fish oil pills( need to take them EVERY day ) & may eventually get the excercise in that I probably need.

Again, I do believe prayer can help so I'm thinking those prayers will help  Little Angel  Am trying to get into Mass more too .

I have struggled with depression on and off for many years....... prayers for you.  Do get exercise and try to get out in the sun as much as possible even if it is cold.  God's fresh air is good also for the soul.

Psalm 26
of the Psalter of the Blessed Virgin Mary
by St. Bonaventure

O Lady, may thy light be the splendor of my countenance:
and let the serenity of thy grace shine upon my mind.

Raise up my head:
and I will sing a psalm to thy name.

Turn not away thy face from me:
for from my youth up I have greatly desired thy beauty and thy grace.

I have loved thee and sought after thee, O Queen of Heaven:
withdraw not thy mercy and thy grace from thy servant.

I will give praise to thee in the nations:
and I will honor the throne of thy glory.

An Offering of the Hearts of Jesus and Mary
by St. John Eudes

O Jesus, only Son of God, only Son of Mary,
I offer Thee the most loving Heart of Thy divine Mother
which is more precious and pleasing to Thee than all hearts.
O Mary, Mother of Jesus,
I offer Thee the most adorable Heart of Thy well-beloved Son,
who is the life and love and joy of Thy Heart.
Blessed be the Most Loving Heart
and Sweet Name of Our Lord Jesus Christ
and the most glorious
Virgin Mary, His Mother,
in eternity and forever.

Prayer in Honor of St. Dymphna

Lord Jesus Christ, You have willed that St. Dymphna should be invoked by thousands of clients as the patroness of nervous and mental disease and have brought it about that her interest in these patients should be an inspiration to and an ideal of charity throughout the world. Grant that, through the prayers of this youthful martyr of purity, those who suffer from nervous and mental illness everywhere on earth may be helped and consoled. I recommend to you in particular . . . Mamasye!

Be pleased to hear the prayers of St. Dymphna and of your Blessed Mother. Give those whom I recommend the patience to bear with their affliction and resignation to do your divine will. Give them the consolation they need and especially the cure they so much desire, if it be your will. Through Christ Our Lord.

AMEN!

St. Joseph model and patron of those who love the Sacred Heart of Jesus, pray for those in need, especially those suffering from depression and mental exhaustion. Help them to know the love of Christ as you press him in your arms, and grant their hearts too may be consoled in the fires of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Dear Mamasye, I am resolved to pray for those who post on this forum in my daily Masses, rosaries and adorations, so know that you will be prayed for on a daily basis by me.  May you consider taking St. John's Wart (Sp?) to help you with your depression and try and get out in the sunshine for a walk regularly.  I've heard most excellent things about St. John's Wart healing depression, and the walking and sunshine should have wonderful effects on your mind as well.  May our Lord give you good friends on these forums to be his presence for you; to help ease your pain and suffering; and to bring you joy and peace in the depths of your soul.  May you unite your sufferings to Jesus' on the cross and offer it up for souls.  May God grant you his peace and help keep you strong in faith, hope and love.  May you never suffer your illness alone but always have God and friends to comfort you.  May his presence give you strength and his love fill you will hope.  Amen.
