The Son has His justice, the Mother has nothing but her love, the Heart of Mary . . . . No grace comes from Heaven without passing through her hands.
St. Jean Baptiste Marie Vianney
Those who would know the intimate secrets of Divine Love and the hidden virtues of Jesus' Divinity, must study them in the transparent mirror of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
St. Peter Julien Eymard
Mary is called the Star of the Sea: for as those who sail on the ocean are directed to the port they seek by observing the stars, so Christians are directed to glory by Mary.
St. Thomas Aquinas, OP
He who is devout to the Virgin Mother will certainly never be lost.
St. Ignatius of Antioch

There's a lot of depth here for thinking about..
One thing I'm noticing is the mirror..
I've been gathering quotes on mirrors recently, to read for meditations..
'. . . The servant of Christ has nothing but Christ.'
St. Jerome
'He, Christ is the splendor of eternal glory, "the brightness of eternal light, and the mirror without cloud.".'
St. Clare
We are all like little mirrors, in which God contemplates Himself. How can you expect that God should recognize His likeness in an impure soul?'
St. Jean Marie Baptiste Vianney

Makes me ashamed - Mary was a creature like me who was a "transparent mirror" so how can I say I can't become that?

Generally, considering oneself the worst of the worst of sinners.. it seems all the more impossible..
But then, since God has a tendency to choose the most unlikely of subjects, to show that what is done is truly by His power and no other.. This then, is a cause for hope. Because of the unlikelihood, because of the unsuitability...
And so too, another cause for hope, is that what we pray for in regards to ourselves especially.. persistently.. 'seek and ye shall find'..
I was very happy to see my old priest Fr. Smith on my visit and talk with him briefly.. And so I went up to the old altar, and prayed for all the neglected graces.. I have this habit of praying for graces that because others did not wish for, are simply waiting, unasked for, or neglected.. at the foot of the altar.. for myself and for others.. (I remembered our little family here)..
So I prayed there for the unasked for and neglected graces, and pray for the good will to make the use of them.

" Never be afraid of loving the Blessed Virgin Mary too much. You can never love her more than Jesus did. If anyone does not wish to have Mary Immaculate for his mother, he will not have Christ for his brother"

I went on a retreat last weekend to an orphanage run by nuns. One of the sisters had put on the cafeteria wall the following message, with blue and white letters in an alternating pattern:
M S E A I
E D M R A
"Mes de Maria" of course means "Month of Mary" in Spanish, a reference to this month, May.
But I knew somehow there was something more to this message. I could not stop looking at it.
The colors. There is some significance to the colors, I thought. And sure enough, if one looks only at the blue letters:
E D M R A
These letters form the word "MADRE" when unscrambled. That means "Mother."
But what about the white ones?
M S E A I
It took a while but then the message revealed it self:
SEA MI
Which means, "be my" ... And right below it, "mother."
I do not know whether the sister intended to encode that message.... Or if someone else did.

Wow!
One cannot help but marvel at it all. I would have stared at it till kingdom come and never would have made any sense out of it, except maybe the Month of Mary. Talk of having eyes and not seeing

Catherder, You're the Catholic Sherlock Holmes! As Odhiambo said, I'd never figure that out.
