On Inspirational Quotes from the Saints there are many thousands of inspiring quotations.

We had two reports recently that the 'refresh' button wasn't working for some folks, the quotes would not change to new quotes, but only stay the same -- and are asking anyone who has this issue to contact the website so we can troubleshoot it.

This is most likely a problem with the browser retrieving the page from the cache rather than updating it properly. To fix it, the code has been added to try to force the browser not to cache the page, and this should clear up the trouble. So it should all work well now for folks who've had this difficulty.

Let us know visitors if you are enjoying the inspirational quotations and that all is working properly please.

I just tested clicking the browser here, and it still works fine.  Then I tried high-lighting the quote, right clicking on the quote, and choosing copy. Next, I closed the window and returned here to right click below this line, which then let me paste the quote here.

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

By "the poor in spirit" is meant those who are poor in earthly desires, and desire nothing but God. These are poor in desires, but not without affection, because they live contented even in this life; and, therefore, the Lord does not say, "Theirs will be the kingdom of heaven," but "theirs is," because even in this life they are rich in spiritual blessings which they receive from God; and thus, however poor they are in temporal goods, they live content with their condition.

This is the first of our Lord Jesus Christ's Beatitudes, of course, from Mt 5.3, and it seems to me the explanation by St Alphonsus is wonderful.  I hope it will be agreeable to move selections occasionally like this to permit discussion without interrupting the meditation desired by the author.
