What time is Christmas Midnight Mass? Midnight Mass would be held at twelve midnight. Some churches hold their Midnight Mass at an earlier hour.

Christmas was celebrated on December 25, even in the early centuries, at least by the Western Church, when the date was soon adopted in the East also.

St. Francis of Assisi arrived at Greccio on Christmas Eve. Through the aid of his friend Giovanni Velita, he constricted a crib and grouped around it figures of the Blessed Virgin, St. Joseph, the ass, the ox, and the Shepherds.

The word Theophania is well known as a name for the Epiphany. The Epiphany was originally a celebration both of the Nativity and the Baptism of the Lord Jesus.

The three traditional colors used for most Christmas decorations have religious significance. Red for the blood of Jesus Green symbolizes Christ's resurrection. Gold represents the status of Jesus as King of kings.

Bethlehem in English means "House of Bread". The Gospel according to John Chapter 6 Verse 35: I am the Bread of Life. He who comes to me will never go hungry.

Originally celebrated on the Sunday after Epiphany, the Feast of the Holy Family was moved to the Sunday after Christmas in 1969, bringing it within the Christmas season.
