I post this for the glory of God; that the Contemplation of the Holy Trinity may be revealed as the supreme devotion

Inspired by the Ecstatic Doctor Denis the Carthusian's Book on Contemplation chapter 33
You will find in this first sort of contemplation supreme devotion and outstanding merit, and you will make maximum progress.
Paraphrase: Let us not mock and laugh at those who make a study of contemplation.
Heed the Holy Admonition of the Apostle Paul to the Romans when he said
‘Be not high-minded, but fear God!’;
To fear God is to hate evil, love the truth and despise every false way.
Heed the All Holy Spirit who says “He that walks humbly, walks confidently.”
Let us walk confidently in our humility knowing :
“Lord, my wisdom is not lofty, nor my countenance proud, I dwell with my brothers in unity.
I do not consider myself to be noble neither do I seek what is beyond my grasp.”
“God’s converses with the simple.”
Model the humility of the Prophet David when he spoke to God saying,
“I have not gone after things too great nor marvels beyond my comprehension.”
Let us not half understand, for the Lord Himself proclaimed
“Supremely blessed are the humble.”
Make haste towards the conclusion:
Run towards the Kingdom of Heaven with humility and purity of heart.
To be saved: Become humble, worship and serve God and serve others
Take up the Cross: Follow Jesus, we are disciples of divine love.
To be saved we must acknowledge our sins and make amends and repent.
Then by God’s grace when we are part of the Body of Christ we shall rejoice in God’s glory.
Selfishness is to be avoided at all costs.
Do not wish to be exalted; but wish to be able to serve and love all peoples.
Give God glory in all that you do.
The Holy Apostle encourages us “yearn for solid food which shall bring perfection.”
The Holy Apostle encourages us to seek The True Wisdom by saying
“among the perfect we speak a message of Divine Wisdom but not the “wisdom” of this age, nor the “wisdom” of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.
No! We speak of the Mystery and the Hidden Wisdom of God which He destined for our glory before time began! If the rulers of the age had realized this, they would not have crucified the Lord of Glory.
For it is written:
No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no heart has imagined, no thought has comprehended, nor any human understood, has been prepared for those who love God.
God has revealed it to us by the Spirit!
The Spirit diligently searches and examines all things!
The Spirit even searches the fullness and depth of the Mystery of God!
For the thoughts of God are known by the Spirit of God just as the thoughts of a human are known by the spirit of that human.
We have not received the spirit of this world but the Spirit who is from God, by which we can understand God by the pardon, the forgiveness, and the kindness freely shown to each of us.
And we speak, not in the words which the “wisdom” of mankind teaches, but in words taught by the Spirit of God which expresses spiritual truths in spiritual words.
Natural humans do not accept the words of the Spirit of God: for the world thinks them foolish because they can not understand them because they are not naturally discerned but spiritually discerned.
Those that are spiritual scrutinize all things; carefully investigating all things by the Spirit because the Spirit is not subject to anyone’s judgements, nor to anything. For the Spirit is the mind of the Lord, by which we are instructed. For we have the mind of Christ.”
Apostle reminds us, it is for us to yearn for higher gifts, namely “faith, hope and love, love being the greatest.”
Paul exhorts us “never grow weary doing good: for in due season we shall reap a harvest of grace, love and mercy, if we do not give up. Therefore as often as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, especially the family of faith.”
It is enough for us to esteem the Apostle’s words “I do not consider that I have gained the prize; one thing, however, I claim to do: forgetting what lies behind I stretch myself forth, towards those things that lie ahead. I press forward, towards the goal to win the prize of God’s heavenly calling in Christ Jesus. All who are perfect embrace this point of view. And if you think differently because of some issue, God will reveal to you as well. Nevertheless we must live with a rule of prayer and thanksgiving, being united to the mind of Christ who has already attained victory. Join one another in following Christ’s example; carefully observing Christ who lives according to the pattern He set for us.”
Concerning the Lord of Glory the Apostle Paul says “We, who with unveiled faces all reflect the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into His image with intensifying glory, which comes from the Lord, who is Spirit. Therefore since we have this ministry, through the mercy of God we do not lose heart. Instead we have renounced secret and shameful ways. We do not practice deceit nor distort the truth of the Word of God. On the contrary we openly proclaim the Truth, we commend ourselves to the human conscience in the sight of God. And even if our Gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. For God has blinded the minds of the unbelievers of this age so that they can not comprehend the Light of the Glorious Gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, Who has shown upon them. For we do not proclaim ourselves but, but Jesus Christ the Lord, and we ourselves are your servants for the sake of Jesus. For God who said “Let Light shine out of darkness,” made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the person of Jesus Christ. Now we have this treasure, yet we are jars of clay chosen to show the great surpassing power of God which is not from us.”
Let us not suffer the consequences of the lazy servant who did not make proper use of what his master had esteemed to give to him to make us of, namely his intellect and his actions.
Let us proceed to multiply talents and give glory to God in all that we do and in our very way of life.
Let us make haste towards God by which we have departed from Him by means of our sins and let us press on in the Way towards God.
Denis admonishes us to seek perfection; we must avoid not only mortal sins but venial sin, which ultimately lead to mortal sins.
Denis reminds us to fear that if we sin mortally we may perish in the Way.
But let us not lose faith nor give up hope or forsake charity.
Denis says that we should set out daily with true, profound, and genuine humility, and with the fervor of divine love; ever striving to attain to the divine heights.
The more utterly and profoundly we contemplate the Most Holy Trinity, and the more ardently we love the Most Blessed Trinity, the more devout we shall become.
Devotion is a ready response to the will of all that concerns God.
Devotion is a spontaneous act of divine worship.
But worship alone will not produce devotion, unless there has been previous contemplation or meditation.
An act of the will, wherein divine worship abides, produces the act of intellect.
You shall see that contemplation is the Way, the Cause and the Means of devotion to the Most Blessed Trinity; and the more divine the object of our contemplation, the nobler, the more excellent it is, the more productive it will naturally be for devotion. We can see this in people who have attained perfection. The opposite will be seen in imperfect people, and it results from their incapacity. Such people are unsuited for divine contemplation. What they need is to be stirred up by visible and palpable things, and to be led by the hand. Then they can be raised to divine things. Beginning with meditation on the Lord’s Passion and Cross, and other mysteries of the Lord’s humanity, they will be moved to greater devotion and can then proceed to noble contemplation of the Most Holy Trinity.
We have seen that the first sort of contemplation is concerned with the supreme Trinity.
It follows that the more progress we make in this sort of contemplation, the more devoutly we will love the Trinity. Gazing on the mutual love within the Trinity, seeing more clearly Its delightful exchange of affection, Its knowledge, fruition, richness and felicity, we find ourselves carried away by a most lively and prompt love for all that pertains to God’s honor and worship. Toward this end we shall do all that lies in our power and still we shall think that all we have done is nothing. Contemplating these mysteries, we shall see how truly immense are the majesty and kindness, the bliss and goodness, the nobility and perfection of the heavenly Trinity. And as we gaze, it occurs to us that we cannot possibly give the Trinity the reverence, love or worship that we ought to give; no, not even if we were to do a thousand times as much as all the world put together. And so we bow down very humbly before God Most High, and devoutly give ourselves over, fully and fervently, to His worship.
According as our contemplation of the most lovable Trinity becomes clearer, so much the greater will be our delight. This delight invigorates, conserves, and strengthens our efforts to do good; so that now that delight is added to our contemplation of the most praiseworthy Trinity, the will is very prompt to perform all that can please God.
Truly, love is the cause of devotion; it is love that orders us imperiously to devotion; and it is contemplation that stirs up love and kindles charity. And so the more we contemplate, the more it leads us to due and fervent love of the most lovely Trinity, the more it increases our devotion to God. The love with which we love the triune God, is the highest and greatest form of love; it is therefore obvious that contemplation of the Trinity gives birth to perfect devotion. Be assured of this, the more ardently and perfectly a person loves God, the more prompt and devout that person will be in every form of worship.
Just as the humanity of Christ is ordained towards God as towards its proper end, so too is God the proper end or goal of contemplation. The love and devotion that surround God, in the end, rightly refer to the contemplation and devoted love of the most desirable Trinity. We know that the end or goal-- and in this case such a supreme, noble and infinite end-- far surpasses the means that lead to that end. Imagine, therefore, to what contemplation, love, and devotion gendered by the Holy Trinity surpass every other devotion.
Great merit lies in contemplating the supremely splendid Trinity. Firstly, because of the incomparable dignity of the subject.
