The church should be kept up in good repair because it is a historical place of worship.
The keeping up should include both the materialness and the spiritualness of the church.
Both ways are honoring God.

The Cathedral of Saint Peter of Beauvais is in Beauvais, France.
Work was begun in 1225 under the count-bishop Milo of Nanteuil with funding from his family.

St. Hedwig's Cathedral is in the historic centre of Berlin Germany.
Dedicated to Hedwig of Silesia, it was erected from 1747 to 1887 by order of King Frederick II of Prussia.
He donated the land on which the church was built.
