This was in the news today (from The Deacons Bench - a questionable site usually). I thought this was funny though:

Quote
At a church in Michigan, the pastor has posted a parting shot for people who decide to leave mass early:
Some people still take off right after Communion at St. Peter Church, but not as many now that they have to walk under signs that read "Judas left early too."

Fr. Cooney says putting the signs up at each of the three exits was "a bit of Irish diplomacy" aimed at addressing a long-standing source of frustration for many Catholic priests: people who leave Mass early, rather than staying for the dismissal.

Perhaps one of the reasons the signs had a positive effect is that he introduced them with humor, rather than scolding the congregation, he believes.

Please, let's not let this turn into an uncharitable discussion! It was just funny to me.

I do wonder if I am going to have to be less strict about my link policy or not though, it's a funny story, but not the best site. Normally I wouldn't link to it.

Perhaps a little edit?

Could you quote the article and picture instead of posting a link?

Done! (I amazed myself).

I agree with you about the site all too often.

You probably are familiar with Catholic Culture then? Smiley I don't always agree with them but I like their site reviews and how they quote what they deem problematic matter, so you can decide about it! I've used them a great deal online and the principles are the thing.

THAT is funny !  My pastor said that one time during Mass but it didn't sound funny at the time. Can't blame him for his frustration though .

My church has a similar sign ' Judas left the Mass early'.   Also for the restrooms the signs are 'Adam' and 'Eve'. The metal door handle to open the Confessional door is in the shape of a  snake to resemble sin. Inside the confessional on the walls are written the Cardinal sins. The confessional has two choices, either to face the priest or a screen.
